Day in the life

03 October 2013

When I tell most people I’m a student, they often assume its the usual deal of a few lectures a week with a lot of late nights and lie-ins, when that couldn’t be further from the truth. My scheduled classes are Monday to Friday 9 am to 4pm, with practice time after that until 5:30pm. My timetable for the first term look something like this: Mondays are definitely my favourite day with classes in Acrobatics, Ballet, Flying Trapeze, Rope and Movement it definitely feels like I’m at a circus school…especially with the 9am start and morning registration!

You would think after all that plus a few hours of additional practice time on top, Tuesdays would be quite a quiet day, but sadly no such luck. Warm-up, Trampoline, Conditioning and Handstands all before lunch certainly make it ‘Hardcore Tuesdays’! The conditioning class with Boldo - the Mongolian Aerial Straps teacher - before an hour of handstands is really tough going, but not a patch on the conditioning I had to do with Ken Berkley at Circus Warehouse…I can usually still manage to walk up and down the stairs here, just!
